Bill Eason is a native Georgian and metro-Atlantan, born in Marietta under the shadow of the Big Chicken.

Bill grew up in Cartersville, except for a three-year detour that included two years on the outskirts of Aachen, Germany. There, Bill attended German public schools, and the full-immersion international experience turned out to be a great experience, as the family took every available opportunity to travel around Europe. He and his family were able to visit England, Holland, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Italy, Switzerland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Austria, Yugoslavia, and Greece during this time. Besides seeing the different landscapes, he got an early exposure to – and appreciation of – different styles of Western architecture, ranging from contemporary to classical to ancient.

Bill graduated cum laude from Vanderbilt University with a double major on a full engineering scholarship. He began his career at NCR but missed academia and soon went back to school to obtain a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech. From there, he had a long tenure at Nortel Networks (Northern Telecom/BNR), followed by jobs at a few startups.

Bill’s wife, Janet, is a breast cancer survivor. They have been blessed with two wonderful children

When not working, Bill enjoys spending his time with his family, helping with homeschooling, gardening, woodworking, playing the piano, restoring an old wooden boat, doing his own home improvement projects, and training his German Shepherd dog, Heidi.
